Space Explorers and Science

Space Explorer week was a blast! We had the Adventure Science Center come to our center and teach us about the different planets, gravity, space food, and the three laws of motion. This was a great week to talk about space, considering some fun information found by NASA this week. NASA said Thursday that its Kepler spacecraft has spotted "Earth's bigger, older cousin": the first nearly Earth-size planet to be found in the habitable zone of a star similar to our own. Though NASA can't say for sure whether the planet is rocky like ours or has water and air, it's the closest match found yet. It will be fun to learn about when more information is generated.
